Boho wedding in their parent’s garden | Kate + Johan
Kate & Johan had such a joyful rainy boho wedding focused around their friends from all over the world and their loving family. They are both creative people and designed this special day in their image. All they wanted was a very informal and relaxed wedding, that feels more like a big summer party and where the guests could have a lot of fun… I loved the idea of people sitting wherever they want, and going to get their food at the foodtrucks.
I loved seeing how they cared about everyone around them. Kate made little boxes with personalized gifts for her bridesmaids, they provided “heels stoppers” to go on the grass and Johan designed the bottles of beer (from his brother’s brewery) for a “hungover kit” present. Everyone was so chilled on the day and even the pouring rain couldn’t have changed the nice atmosphere.
Because they wanted to party all night long, it was complicated for them to find the perfect venue, until Johan’s parents offered them to use their house garden. French people love having late weddings and everyone often party until dawn! They loved the idea and opted for a Bedouin tent and hunted for the decoration in flea markets. A few days before the wedding, one of Johan’s brother built the dancefloor and the wooden tap to serve the homemade craft beers.
One of my favourite moment was during Kate & Johan’s first look. They wanted to spend this special moment together before the ceremony and we decided to do it in their living room, the exact same place where she said yes to him the Christmas prior the wedding. One of Kate’s ritual on this day is to watch “Love actually” while he cook the dinner. She noticed that is was trying to make it even more special this time and she was right cause he asked her right after the dessert. How nice?
