Paris non-touristy honeymoon | Claudia + Tom
Tom and Claudia, a lovely couple from Philadelphia decided to end their honeymoon in Paris after a trip in Europe. They didn’t want typical touristy photos but an intimate session which truly represented them. By chance the weather was amazing, and we spent a magical moment watching the sunset from “le pont des invalides”.
In their words – “After saying our vows to each other and celebrating our union with family and friends in the woods of southeastern Pennsylvania, we hopped on a plane across the Atlantic to our honeymoon.
Our first stop was Amsterdam, where we strolled the cobblestone streets, making stops for chocolate and pastries whenever the aroma pulled us in. We then took a train to Paris, picked up a rental car and started our drive south to Barcelona. On the way, we stopped in the French countryside and stayed at the Château de Codignat, a beautiful and slightly spooky medieval castle near Clermont-Ferrand.
Next stop was Barcelona, where we ate tapas for every meal and used skateboards as our primary mode of transportation. We drove back up north with wide eyes and happy full hearts, and ended our honeymoon with a portrait session in Paris with Coralie.
Tom is a filmmaker and also loves photography, so we have photos and video of our lives throughout our relationship. I have always loved being able to revisit moments this way and it only made sense to us that we document our honeymoon in this way too. When we found Coralie, we were blown away by her work and couldn’t wait to book her for a portrait session. In person, she was even more warm and personable and immediately felt like a kindred spirit. She showed us around Paris and quietly took photos as we explored the streets and sipped lattes. We felt at ease in a foreign city and left feeling like we made a new friend.”
