Relaxed Peak District wedding in the countryside| Joasia & James

The Peak District is one of my favourite place to photograph couples, either for an adventure engagement session or for a countryside wedding.

Joasia and James planned a relaxed Peak District wedding, one of my favourite North West of England locations.

They chose to do the reception at Brosterfield Farm in Foolow. A venue down a long tree lined driveway that opens up to an idyllic farm house with a beautiful garden, complete with a swing under the massive tree. It had everything they wanted – accommodation for their families (some of whom were travelling from Poland) and an amazing outside area for a marquee and mud free gravel for sipping their pre dinner drinks on.

Joasia and James wanted a really relaxed, fun day, focusing on their family and friends, so they styled the day to suit that kind of vibe. The colour palette came from the stationary Joasia had designed – dusty pinks, autumnal golden hues, mulberries and a lot of greenery.

This is what Joasia, the bride, told me they wanted their wedding to be like, and I’m glad that it’s exactly what happened:

“Our wedding dream is to have everyone we love in one big room together. We already know that it’s going to be the best, most surreal day ever! We’re gonna have a ceremony in Sheffield and we’ll then drive out into the Peak District to Derbyshire. The reception is gonna be a tiny village called Foolow. We’re having a big marquee on the lawn there, with lots of outdoor lighting, a cosy fire, lots of blankets to keep warm and lots of alcohol to keep us warm also! We’re having a 3 course meal, followed by dancing, more dancing, singing and more dancing. Oh and cakes!”

Are you looking for a photographer for your Peak District wedding? I love this place a lot for the variety of landscapes and the beautiful light you can find there. You can see the engagement session I did with Joasia and James in the Peak District here.
